Marina Grande se trouve dans la partie septentrionale de l’île de Capri, juste en face du golfe de Naples.
Marina Grande est le point d’abordage où l’on débarque en arrivant à Capri en bateau. Ce petit bourg marin évocateur accueille les visiteurs avec l’Azienda Autonoma di Soggiorno e Turismo, le lieu où demander toute information touristique. En outre, il est possible de s’embarquer ici pour faire le tour de l’île en bateau.Un bateau emmène aussi en peu de temps à la plage de Palazzo a Mare. Un funiculaire emmène par contre les visiteurs directement dans le centre-ville de Capri.
Les habitations des pêcheurs, aux couleurs typiques, longent le port. Autrefois, au rez-de-chaussée des maison, les pêcheurs abritaient leurs bateaux.
Près du port se trouve la plage de Marina Grande, la plus longue plage de Capri. Signalons la belle église San Costanzo.
